SECTION 1.0: THE INDICTMENT OF THE BILLABLE HOUR
The "Billable Hour" is the structural poison of the advisory industry. It creates a toxic Principal-Agent Problem where the provider is economically rewarded for inefficiency and penalized for expertise.
When a consultant sells time, their commercial success is inversely correlated with the client’s swift achievement of clarity. They are incentivized to prolong the Strategic Void™.
WE REJECT HOURLY BILLING. It is unethical to charge a client for the passage of time. We charge only for the creation of value.
SECTION 2.0: THE LAW OF VALUE-BASED FEES
Price is determined by the Worth of the Solution, not the Cost of the Labor.
If we solve a $500,000,000 problem in 30 minutes, the fee is based on the ₦500M value, not the 30 minutes.
The Vendor says: "I cost $50,000 per hour." (Selling Input).
The Institute says: "The investment is $18.5M to unlock $500M." (Selling Outcome).
This aligns our incentives. We are motivated to solve the problem as quickly as possible, granting the client the gift of speed.
SECTION 3.0: THE OPERATIONAL PROTOCOL
Effective immediately, the following artifacts are BANNED:
Timesheets: We do not track hours. We track impact.
Hourly Breakdowns: We will never provide a "cost breakdown" of our labor. To do so is to commoditize our judgment.
Retainers for "Access": We do not sell "access." We sell specific strategic mandates with defined endpoints.
SECTION 4.0: THE COSTLY SIGNAL
Value-Based Pricing is a Costly Signal. It requires the confidence to cap our upside if we are slow, and the competence to be profitable by being fast. It signals to The Council that we are betting on our own ability to deliver the result.
We do not rent our minds. We capitalize our wisdom.
