SECTION 1.0: THE INDICTMENT OF PROCUREMENT
The Procurement Department is a machine built to buy commodities. Its sole metric is "Cost Reduction." It cannot measure "Value Creation." To force a Strategic Architect into a procurement spreadsheet is to strip them of their essence.
If we allow ourselves to be "procured," we accept the status of a Vendor—a replaceable part in a machine we do not control.
SECTION 2.0: THE LAW OF DIRECT ACCESS
We confer only with the Economic Buyer.
The "Economic Buyer" is the individual who owns the P&L and feels the pain of the problem (The CEO, The Founder).
We do not negotiate terms with intermediaries who lack the authority to assess value. If the Decision Maker cannot be in the room, we are not in the room.
SECTION 3.0: THE OPERATIONAL PROTOCOL
Effective immediately, we enforce Total Immunity from vendor bureaucracy:
No Portals: We do not register on "Vendor Portals."
No Grids: We do not fill out "Comparative Pricing Grids."
The Exit Clause: If a client attempts to hand us off to procurement after the deal is agreed, we treat it as a breach of the Peer Protocol and pause the engagement.
SECTION 4.0: THE COSTLY SIGNAL
Refusing to jump through hoops is a Costly Signal. It risks losing the contract. But it protects the Category of One. A "Lemon" will fill out any form to get paid. A "Peach" knows that a client who treats them like a vendor today will ignore their counsel tomorrow.
We are not a line item. We are the partners.
